Geriatrics, the care for elderly individuals is a field that is widely developed in India. The question arises when, to the facilities and mental satisfaction achieved in those homes. Though there are 700 plus homes in India most are struggling to deliver to the need of the individuals. Late Dr. M. M. Alex had proposed to make a difference in this aspect. His Trust, Vedik-India Society now plans to implement Geriatric Communities that don’t just serve as a home for the elderly but also as a knowledge farm where the young can learn from them. Geriatric Communities will include dementia therapy, brain gyms, activities centers and more. Vedik-India Society will also meet the supply demands, ensuring psychological stability and developing required infrastructure in those homes that are underprivileged and un-aided.
